MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN
ASSOCIATION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF NIGERIA
AND
ASSOCIATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL REPORTERS OF NIGERIA

OBJECTIVES
The objective of this agreement is to mutually institutionalize a process by both parties
through which scientific based conclusions, information and facts about climate change and
related issues are disseminated to the public.
The above objective will be achieved through:
a. Fostering a two-way flow of information and learning between both parties which will
cumulate in a workshop or training for capacity building.
b. Designing, developing and delivering training and certifications for members of both
parties.
c. Providing a database of environmental experts and regulators and professionals for
opinions and analysis purposes.
d. Furthering discussions of possible means of funding for Environmental Reporters.
e. Enhancing skills of student members through internship, mentorship and training.

ROLE OF AEIAN

a. AEIAN shall promote the objective of this MOU by encouraging its members, which includes
professionals from diverse fields to provide expert opinion and analysis whenever needed by
Environmental Reporters.
b. AEIAN shall provide resource persons for trainings and workshops.
c.AEIAN shll provide available infrastructure and facilities for delivering the training, courses
and other activities in attaining the objectives of this MoU.
d. AEIAN shall help facilitate funding options through its members and other organizations.

ROLE OF ENVIRONMENTAL REPORTERS

a. Environmental Reporters shall promote the objective of this MOU by encouraging its
members to utilize the resources and network that will be provided by AEIAN.
b. Environmental Reporters shall provide resource persons for trainings and workshops.
c.Environmental Reporters shall provide available infrastructure and facilities for delivering
the training, courses and other activities in attaining the objectives of this MoU.

JOINT RESPONSIBILITIES

a. Promotion for the objectives shall be advertised/ propagated through respective websites
of the parties.
b.Training workshops/ promotional workshops as stated in the objective of the MoU shall be
decided by the parties.
